Vintage Wm Rogers & Son Heirloom Silverware Offered for your consideration, just in time for your holiday table, is this this lovely vintage set of Wm. Rogers & Son silver place settings 51 piece service for 8. This silver was acquired at an estate auction w I was told it was a wedding present dating back to the 1940's.* The silverware is marked "Wm. Rogers and Son IS" which is the mark that was used by the International Silver Company as early as 1913.This silverware set is in very good, gently used condition. It could use some polishing, it has been in storage for a long time, t is a little tarnish, but no pitting. The knives have stainless steel blades. The pieces are solid and easy to hold. The handsom pattern on this silver is timeless, and elegant with a beautiful graduated gardenia and leaf design that is engulfed in a scalloped wrap. The Gardenia pattern dates from 1941, according to "Silverplated Flatware"Revised 4th Edition by Tere Hagan, page 159, and would be awonderful investment for yourself or as a gift to someone very special.
