I am selling a wonderful, vintage wood weathervane - of an Indian Chief (with 3 feathers), nailed with metal supports to an arrow directional. The wood is very weathered; there are holes where other nails had previously held the vane in place; and the yellow paint on the arrow is worn - so I think this could be a 19th century piece. The rusted, metal rod is removable. Height of Indian is 10"; length of arrow is 14 3/4". Condition is very good - there are cracks to wood, but it is still solid; no breaks to metal. As an interesting note: The person I bought this from said it came off a barn on Eastern, Long Island, N. Y.
