I bought three of these at a estate sale and they are old 5 foot long wood poles with steel ends to open high windows and pull down awnings... I have a new use for them also, for retrieving your floating duck decoys as they will snag the string easy and you can use in a boat or in those hard to reach places w you threw the decoy farther than your boots will allow you to go!!!
