Pair of genuine vintage children’s Withington Ski Skates in the original box! Withington, located in West Minot, Maine, was a prominent manufacturer of children’s ski gear in the first half of the 1900’s – 1965. They also made toboggans and sleds. This old pair of wooden ski skates has never been worn. There are no missing pieces and the springs are still securely attached. There are a few very small bits of missing red paint and both of the decals are a little worn – although one is a little better than the other. The decals are red, white, and blue and are marked: PURSUIT and have a type of Aircraft logo with a red white and blue circle – they also include the company name and location. Each ski skate measures 11 ¾” long from the back to the front of the curl, 2 ½” wide from side to side, and stands 4” tall at the top of the curl in the front. The original box has some damage, but can still display well with the ski skates. One end of the box is missing and the other end has slightly worn edges and corners. The box is marked: Ski Skates, Set No. 98, Manufactured by Withington, West Minot, Maine. There are a few minor issues with condition even though these have never been worn. The black rubber pads on each ski skate have impressions in them from the springs and the laces or ties are a bit stiff, but they are not brittle. Also, read more
