Welcome to Floyd's Infinite Trunk Sale! Up for auction here is a pair of vintage wooden plaques, with reproduction cut-outs of either Elizabethan or Georgian era paintings applied onto wood and then laminated over with varnish. Each measured roughly 11.5" long/tall by 7.5" in width. Wood appears to be pine, though was stained to resemble something darker, perhaps walnut. Very cool! Condition: These hangs are in overall good vintage condition. Both show surface wear and crackling to varnish/laminate. The plaque with the young boy holding a puppy has a ding, with radiating cracks, right on one of the poor lad's eyes. This damage, as well as some rubbing and surface wear to the beveled edges of the frame, is the only thing on either plaque which I would say affects overall aesthetic value. There is gold gilt along the borders of both pieces. In addition, each have two small nail holes (one at the top and one at the bottom), and the upper ones piece straight through the wood. This is presumably a result of mounting/hanging. One plaque (the plaque with the boy) has an old staple which does not go through to the face. I'd hang them up, even with the damage/wear. They look great in spite of it. Thanks for looking! Floyd
