This is a vintage police uniform cape of the Worcestershire Constabulary (or West Mercia Constabulary). I was told it was issued in the 1980's but I would guess it is late 1960's or 70's. ( I wasn't aware that police were still issued with capes in the 80's, but I could be wrong).It is in excellent condition with original collar numbers and the lion's head clasp and chain still fully functional and in good order. It also has all three of the original buttons attached.It is a heavy serge material with no apparent damage or obvious signs of use. You will probably be hard pushed to find one of these in as good a condition as this one!I collect police memorabilia and uniform items, but sadly, I have nowhere available in my collection for this item. It would be great if it could go to a good home, where it can be seen and appreciated.
