*** READ CAREFULLY PLEASE**** The item I have up for auction is a vintage ZENITH Royal 500 tubeless all transistor portable radio . Let me start by stating this radio needs a bit of TLC/repair-the speaker does not produce sound-However, I can hear the radio by using headphones(headphone jack is a bit finicky & has a bit of static). Also-there is a bit of battery corrosion-mainly near the battery contacts & one of the contacts has become loose & separated from the plastic housing(see pic # 9). That being stated-this radio picks up many far away signals from surrounding states from Michigan(I picked up stations from Canada, Kentucky, Indiana, & Ohio). It is the harder to find pink (or a coral) color. This portable radio comes with the original storage pouch, earphones(working), leather case, manual/instructions, a Zenith brochure, & a note from Zenith regarding the "genuine top grain cowhide" carry case. It operates on 4 AA batteries & has the propping easel intact-but it is on the loose side. A low starting price reflects the drawbacks with the unit. CONDITION: This used radio is in good vintage condition with some visible cosmetic wear. The wear is from use/age : scuffs/surface scratches mainly & a very small nick/chip on the seam on the top of the radio(see pic# 10 for a close-up).
