Offered with NO RESERVE!! This beautiful hand-coiled olla, made by the well known important artist Sofia Medina(great-daughter-in-law of Trinidad Medina) which taught her the art of pottery making!! Sofia is advancing in age and is not producing very many pieces at this time! is an opportunity to acquire a piece of Native American art which will only increase in value. $$VERY GOOD PIECE OF ART FOR INVESTMENT$$ This Magnificent Olla measures almost 6 " inches high x approximately 7 1/2" inches in diameter. It was signed before the firing process Sofia Medina, Zia on bottom side and has been baked on. We picked up this piece in Zia Pueblo from the Medina Family back in the 1980,s. This piece from Zia is Natural Pigment painted with 3 different colors (Also known as Polychrome) using yucca instead of a brush and is designed with a traditional tribal motif which includes 4 zia roadrunner birds that can be seen in many early Zia Pottery Pieces!! It is in good condition, no chips or cracks. !!
