is a cool vintage lamp for those who are hopelessly trapped in the 70's. Seems like just a few years ago to me that Charlie the Tuna was the front man for the Starkist Foods advertisements for their canned tuna products. Apparently it was actually about 37 years as this lamp indicates 1970 and Starkist Foods at the base on the back. This is an advertising novelty type lamp of Charlie the Tuna. It is made of some type of painted ceramic or ceramic composite material. The piece has a few little marks to the finish and t and a little darkening from age but overall appearance is very good as the pictures show. The orange hat says "Charlie" on top as well. This lamp stands about 12.5 inches tall to the socket and the base is about 3 by 3 inches in dimension. Cord looks good and usable and we tried a bulb to determine that the lamp works properly. So, could use a little light cleanup and then good to go. Not sure how one of these was acquired back in 1970 but suspect someone had to get some labels of a quantity of tuna cans as part of the process. That's about it. . We tried to provide some pictures that would be helpful to those having interest. We'll start this vintage 1970 era advertising figural novelty lamp low so enjoy the auction. When packed the lamp will weigh about 2.5 lb so we'll use USPS Parcel Post service as the lowest cost read more
