This is a "Violet Ray" machine (essentially a Tesla Coil) that produces a very high voltage, radio frequency (harmless) tiny electrical current. these were sold in the 1920s as supposed to have some healing properties. WE MAKE NO CLAIM THAT THIS HAS ANY HEALING OR MEDICINAL PROPERTIES WHATSOEVER. It is an interesting gadget. It works fine (although it needs a power cord. You can still buy the noble-gas filled tubes that slide into the end of this device and glow in various colors depending on the gas mixture. You can find these tubes on eBay or Google for them. For example, check out item #390063716038, and item #390063717414.This is an antique curiosity and sold as such.I will post more photos in a day or so.
