VITELLIUS – EXTREMELY RARE SPANISH DENARIUS !! This is a rarity of the Civil Wars that followed the fall of Nero. It was struck at Tarraco in Spain, in the name of Vitellius, before he came to power. He is designated here simply as Imperator, and not Augustus. The reverse is a Senatorial, Republican type. The legend is I O MAXIMVS, with a depiction of the cult statue and temple of Rome’s principal deity on the Capitol. The coin is plated (see illustration), but with clear portrait, legends and types. This coin is guaranteed to be in every way genuine. Should it be found to be otherwise by a respectable authority, it may be returned for a full refund. I try to present coins as clearly and straightforwardly as possible, and am happy to answer any questions you may have. I take a professional attitude to shipment, because no-one, myself included, likes having to wait for their purchases ! Goods are sent very promptly on receipt of payment – in many cases the same day as payment is received, and in any case within 24 hours ( weekends and public holidays of course excepted). My charge for postage is at cost inside the UK, and well below cost for overseas. Multiple purchases can travel together for one single charge. I use new, proper packaging materials, not second hand scraps, and make no charge for them. I ask that your feedback read more
