Last month, eBay Live Auctions carried GONE WITH THE WIND memorabilia from THE GONE WITH THE WIND HALL OF STARS MUSEUM, furnishings and items belonging to actor, Fred Crane, and his wife, Terry Lynn, from their estate in Georgia. Actor, Fred Crane, is best known for his role as Brent Tarleton, one of the Tarleton Twins (opposite George Reeves), who were Scarlett O'Hara's suitors in the classic film, GONE WITH THE WIND. Crane, who grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, went to Hollywood in 1938 at the age of 20, when his mother stuck a one-way railroad ticket to Hollywood in his hand and fifty dollars for his pocket, and said, "Boy, go out t and get in the movies!" Crane did just that. His first movie role was Brent Tarleton, who spoke the opening lines in GONE WITH THE WIND. He worked as an actor in Hollywood for over 60 years, as well of a broadcaster and program director for a classical music station in Los Angeles. Some of his credits include: Lawman, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, The Cisco Kid, Twilight Zone, Roaring Twenties, 77 Sunset Strip, Hawaiian Eye, Jack Benny Show, Peyton Place and General Hospital, to name a few. Crane and his wife, Terry Lynn, owned and operated a Gone With the Wind-themed bed and breakfast, Tarleton Oaks, and The Gone With the Wind Hall of Stars Museum until recently.
