VNTG Exact Weight Measuring Scale Columbus Ohio welcome to the bleemelbuilding... I owned a Brick and Mortar Antique Store in the 1990's. I have closed my store and have sold on eBay for over 10 years. I have loved and collected antiques for 33+ years, and love finding that item you need to decorate your home and/or add to your collection. I am a part-time ebayer and am not online all the time. Please know that I will reply to any emailed questions, and always check emails a few hours before the auctions end. I am not an expert at everything sold, and I do not pretend to be. All items are sold as-is described/photoed. I inspect them when I photo and take pictures of damage found. I inspect again when I list, and attempt to disclose any known flaws or imperfections. If you see something not described, please let me know. The Description includes the pictures, so please check them out carefully in case t is damage I missed. Email all questions prior to the end of the auction, email before you bid. I post questions to the listing and you should check for new information added/questions answered before bidding. International Buyer's Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be prior to bidding/buying. Spring has started in the Midwest which means auctions, flea markets and lots of fun hunting for new items to sell. I never know from one week to the next what I will have to sell, so check back often. I buy what I like and what I think you will like. Sometimes that means that I do not know exactly what I have or how to describe it. I will always let you know what I know, even if it is not much. I sell using the auction format but have recently opened up an eBay store, bleemelantiques. ITEM DESCRIPTION This sale is for a vintage Exact Weight Measuring Scale, manufactured in Columbus, OH. The bottom of the scale has a molded/embossed number, 2275. T are also a couple of stickers found, see picts. The underside of the machine has a round yellow sticker, reads, "Inspected by 55 Assembled By 253 one above and one below the maker's name, "The Exact Weight Scale Company", see picts. On the backside of the center arm is a round sticker that reads, "C ity of Terre Haute Ind. S. 19 Dept. of Wts. & Meas. J.T. Harper Inspector Approved and Sealed". This scale will probably need rebalanced, as this label is believed to be 'very vintage'. This scale has a silver finish that appears to be stainless steel but I could not find this marked on the scale, see picts, so cannot guarantee it. It has a wonderful patina of old metal, this is a used scale, purchased at a church sale. The church had used it to weigh candy and other items sold as fundraisers for many years. It would also look appropriate on the counter of an old fashioned country store, see picts. It measures, using the bar and the weight attached, by the ounce, up to one pound, but has the 'fine measurement' window at the top of the center arm, allowing you to weigh within 1/8 of an ounce under/over, see picts. I believe with any other additional weights you could use the scale to weigh heavier items, but these are not included. It has the original maker's plate which reads "Made By The Exact Weight Scale Co. Columbus, O.USA. Exact Weight Registered 67983". The scale is a nice size, small enough to fit on a kitchen counter or to display on a shelf , see picts. It measures approx. 14 1/8 inches long and 15 1/2 in tall. The base measures approx. 5 1/4 inches deep, approx. 6 1/2 inches deep if I measure the maximum depth including the largest metal tray and the hanging weight.
