Description: Mexican silver and the land's native obsidian combine beautifully in this elegant Art Deco bracelet dating from the 1930s. The ever-so-loved "panel and ball" design is one of the genre's most collected and an absolute must-have for your jewelry box.The bracelet at hand is 6 7/8" long (not including the clasp) and 3/4" wide (at its widest). It consists of alternating obsidian and ball pyramid panels, 10 in all, held together by strong yet flexible wire hinges. The stones are at least 3/16" thick and kept securely in their bezels by twist-rope wire that sits in grooves which have been hand-carved in the obsidian! Marked simply "STERLING" on the back of one link this is a beautifully executed bracelet as well as a classic early Mexican creation that's easy to wear and will never go unnoticed or out of style. Condition: Condition on the bracelet is very good. The hinges are strong, the stones secure in their settings and the box-and-tongue clasp works perfectly. The combination of silver and obsidian epitomizes Mexican design with the silver warmly glowing and the stone showing its golden-brown depths when the light hits it.
