"The History of America From its Discovery By Columbus to the Conclusion of the Late War" By William Russell, Esq. of Gray's Inn. in 2 complete volumes, printed in London by Fielding and Walker, No. 20, Pater-Noster-Row., in 1778. Undoubtedly the first history written of America which includes the American Revolution. These are relatively large volumes (measuring about 8 1/2" by 10" each) in full leather bindings. Volume 1 has 494 numbered pages and Volume 2 has 619 numbered pages. I was told that this was a very rare set of books, however, these volumes do have issues. The bindings are rough, especially the spines (but I believe these are the original bindings). For volume 1, the front cover is almost detached (but not completely). The back cover is completely detached (but present). I believe that at least one last page is missing, but hard to tell unless you know how many pages are in this volume. Volume 2, the front cover is almost detached, but the back cover is still strongly attached. MOST IMPORTANTLY , all of the illustrations and maps have been removed from the books. They are now only text. A very rare set 2 volume set being offered as is. Please email with any questions. PLEASE NOTE: Handling Cost includes insurance
