This piece is in Superb condition for age, and all the mechanics work well. For a Fact...This is by far one of the Cleanest I've ever owned. "Theory of Operation" is as follows... This Model was used to control a motorized damper on a coal furnace. When Red closed to Blue it energized the motor on the "Open" side of the damper to open it up. After the house heated up, Red would disconnect from Blue, and connect to White to energize the motor on the "Close" side of the damper control to close the damper, thus closing off the air to the burner section.Quite an ingenious piece of engineering for the day. An ad for the actual damper control can be seen here..► 140488140810 ◄ The Clock keeps Very Good time. The Thermometer is Original, & accurate. This was a Rich man's Thermostat, in as much as it will to turn the heat up, and down depending on the settings of the timer on the rear of the clock. I do have a key included that winds Both springs, and sets the Day / Night temperature settings. It's not original to the 'Stat but works great. Make this a great conversation piece, wall decoration, read more
