Vtg 1930's Art Deco Openback Sapphire Blue Crystal Pendant Glass Silver Necklace This auction is for a sparkling and colorful, Art Deco openback crystal pendant necklace, that is from the 1930's.This piece is silvertone and does not test positive for silver content but is quality made with nice detail that looks very much like sterling. This necklace measures 20" long, with the pendant dropping another 2" below that, and is 1" wide at its widest point. This piece closes securely with a fine box clasp that is marked "sterling" so I don't think its original to the piece. The crystals along the chain have a full square shape measuring 8mm in diameter. The crystals sit in an open setting and are faceted on both sides for the maximum amount of light and sparkle. The back of crystal reveals a pretty stamped pattern on the setting which is a nice design detail. The crystals are a vibrant blue with crisp faceting that is very refractive. There are a couple of small chips to the backs of the crystals but even upon close inspection there are no chips to the front of the crystals and the surface are smooth with a nice gleam that doesn't have surface wear. The tear-drop pendant is thick with faceting along the sides that gives the pendant a lot of dimension and refraction. The pendant dangles freely which gives the necklace a subtle amount of read more
