I WILL NOT LIE ABOUT ANY ITEM BUT I AM HUMAN AND SOMETIMES WE MAKE MISTAKES . let me start by saying ---- I do not sew , my mom tried to teach me and finally gave up . now , we plugged this up , the needle went up and down , it makes a pretty humming sound , it had NO funny noises and had NO funny burning smells while working . it runs quietly and smoothly , it that where the saying runs like a singer sewing machine comes from ? I took a picture of the top left side , there is a hole that looks like something is supposed to be there , I would not have a clue what it is , or if it is in the box with the other pieces . it has been well used and well loved . it came from an estate , the family said their mother loved to make quilts and did so for family and friends , so this machine has good karma I'll bet . it does have some extras in the top shelf of the box , I don't know what they do . the original case is with the machine and it is in good condition for it's age . the light also read more
