What an amazing piece of military art! Very naive and has a great folk art quality. Looks like the artist only had 3 colors available to work with...BLUE, YELLOW & WHITE with which he was able to make brown and green with. I believe this is an African-American TUSKEGEE AIRMEN Soldier in the Army Air Force. Back of painting is dated 1944 A.A.F Bill. J. The soldiers name is "BILL. J." and there is a "B" on one sleeve and a "J" on the other. This is an oil painting and it is in GREAT condition. This was most likely painted by an American soldier (possibly in Europe?). Entire frame and painting measures 15.5" x 12.5". Thanks for looking!
