Vintage 1950s Kodak 3D Kodaslide II 2 Stereoviewer for Realist Format Slides + Box/Papers/Receipt +12 Vintage Slides - VIEWER HAS BEEN SERVICED & WORKS PERFECTLY! ________________________________________I have been collecting 3D media for the last 30 years and have finally decided it's time to part ways with some of my favorite things.The Viewer: This is a 1950s bakelite Kodak Kodaslide 2 stereo viewer - One of the best I've seen! It also comes complete with all it's paperwork and box! It is used for viewing 35mm realist format stereo slides. This lightweight virtually indestructible viewer is the best stereo slide viewer that Kodak ever made and in my opinion one of the best ever! It has coated achromatic glass lenses (compared to the Kodaslide 1 viewers that have plastic single element lenses) which give an exceptionally clear viewing experience. The condition is very nice as can be seen in my photos and it works Excellent. This viewer is very handy because it can be used with 2 "D" size batteries, as well as with AC electricity. It is light weight and even when using batteries, it provides ample illumination for any stereo slide.Even though it looks great, the insides needed help as ALL of these viewers do. I have completely taken it apart, cleaned and checked out everything inside! The bakelite is complete with no broken edges or cracks. All electrical terminals have been checked and work perfect; The lenses have been cleaned and are free of any mold, fungus or mildew; The interocular adjustment has been taken apart, cleaned and rebuilt and works perfectly; The rheostat has been checked and works perfectly - this is the adjustment that makes illumination adjustable for any stereo slide; and the cord is completely flexible with no cracks even around the backside where the cord exits the viewer - this is the #1 trouble spot where these cords start to deteriorate - this one is perfect. See my pictures! Best of all...The focus has been completely taken apart and rebuilt. It works perfectly...This is something that is broken on 90% of these ebay viewers!You wont find a better example of this viewer PLUS it has been made ready to last another 50 years!The Original Box: It comes in an original Kodaslide II box which has all of the inserts...even the ones usually thrown away. The box is sturdy with no repairs. Definitely one of the better looking boxes I've seen, too! This lot also includes the original invoice for the viewer (dated August 2, 1958), the original hang tag, the original instruction sheet, film instruction sheet and the original envelope to keep it all in.The Stereo Slides: In addition to the viewer, there are 10 color 3D Realist format slides which are from the 1950s - All are in cardboard mounts typical of the 1960s-1970s. The pictures are of family on vacation and around the house.
