Vintage 1950's ELNA GRASSHOPPER Rare Swiss Sewing Machine w/Case & AccessoriesThe Tavaro Co.of Switzerland manufactured the ELNA GRASSHOPPER I from 1940-1952Description: Portable Straight Stitch with Free Arm, built in Motor and Light. Knee Control w/Brake Pad, Horizontal Rotary Hook, drop in Bobbin, Stitch Regulator situated on top of and at the end of the free arm. The accessory box sits snugly behind the free arm. T he carry case fits around the free arm enabling the case to extend the sewing area, which was a unique feature for this time period.This item comes with Case and Accessories shown in pictureVery well maintained, works. Cord had US plug put on was European style. Booklet is in French.Case flips out and converts to a table box for extended sewing area, as seen in the pictures. Please feel free to ask questions.
