Up for Your Consideration BLUE ADLER J5 VINTAGE TYPEWRITER MADE IN WEST GERMANY w/ ORIGINAL INSTRUCTION BOOKLET / MANUAL, HARD ADLER CASE w/ KEY, EXTRA RIBBON & TYPEWRITER COVER -- 1970s J 5 Portable Manual -- NAVY Blue / White Gloss in Color w/ CHROME Serial Number on the bottom of the typewriter is: A5 Form 2 Back of the Typewriter says: T-A Organization - Made in Western Germany The front of the Typewriter is marked with a plate from a servicing/sales company According to my research on the item - T his typewriter has 12 characters/spaces per inch which means the type is smaller. Most typewriters have pica type which is 10 characters/spaces per inch. Typewriter is a fresh estate sale find. I am selling the machine and its accessories as is. The Typewriter has 3 settings for the ribbon--black, red, and white which is for making stencils; the keys strike but the letters do not appear except on the stencil (you wouldn't use that setting for typing correspondence). If you replace the ribbon with a strictly black ribbon, it will not type red but you will get more out of the ribbon by putting it on the red setting when the black setting starts to fade. It has various settings for spacing--single, double, etc.This typewriter has a switch on the top which allows the paper holder to spring up; on the paper holder are numbers for read more
