This offer is for a vintage all wood Abacus with the instruction book. It is a computing instrument of great antiquity having been invented and used by the Chinese for centuries. Made primarily of a wood frame that is painted black, it has 65 donut shaped "counters" at the bottom and 26 donut shaped "counters" at the top. It is held together by ornate brass strips. It measures 9 1⁄2âe wide x 4 1⁄2âe high and is in very good used condition. The book titled; The Fundamental Operations in Bead Arithmetic, How to Use the Chinese Abacus, by C. C.Woo, was published by the China Lace Co., LTD., Hong Kong . The instructions show you how to use it for; Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Square Root & Cube Root, and more. The 52 page book is in very good used condition, no stains or ripped pages. It does have the ownerâe(tm)s name on the front cover in ink and some figures in pencil on the back.
