BRASS LETTER BOX Vintage brass letter box with door knocker; age unknown.Size of plate: 19.2cm x 6cm; max width (including knocker rest): 9.8cmThe letter box has fixing screws (approximately 5cm long) with metal washers. It closes with a spring: a recent replacement of the original spring. The rear of the flap has been painted.Condition: Please see photos. I have not attempted to clean the letter box. There is a small, very shallow dent to the front (above the left-hand side of the flap); and a small linear indentation to the left-hand side ridged area, possibly a manufacturing flaw. There is a small area of very mild corrosion (max 7mm x 4mm) to the left-hand side of the shaped aperture.The reverse of the letter box and the fixing screws and washers have superficial corrosion, but the free end of both screws turns freely in its housing.
