Up for auction is a vintage sealed original package of 100 King Size "Carnival" paper drinking straws, which is marked, "Mfd by Nation Soda Straw Company, Chicago, Illinois, In the Far West, Safe-T Baking Company, San Francisco 7, Calif." This package of soda straws is dated 1957, and is in excellent vintage condition, sealed and never opened, with no tears, holes, or frays. The clear cellophane window on the front allows you to see the paper straws inside, which are white striped with red, green, or blue. The cardboard box is a bit yellowed with age, but the graphics are still bright and clear featuring "Scoopy" the clown on the front, with an offer of a "Scoopy Hand Puppet" along with suggestions for "having fun with Carnival straws" on the back. Listed are games like "blow the man down", bubbles, weaving, and craft projects, for boys and girls. The price stamped in purple on the top shows that these straws originally sold at 2 / 25 cents.
