!!!!!ATTENTION QUILTERS!!!!Charming! With a little handwork, this can become a darling vintage QUILT...or 8 throw pillows!!!My grandmother made quilts, and this reminds me so much of her!Vintage~8 FEEDSACK/FLOURSACK "Make-Do" Quilt Blocks~14-1/2"sq.~1940~old newspaper backed! Sweetest novelty fabric prints! Love these feedsack make-do fabrics!Back in this time period, life was hard and ladies used every scrap of fabric available and made quilts for beauty and function. The quilts were "make-do" with what you have at hand. These quilt blocks came from a Eufaula, Alabama, estate about 35 years ago. I had plans to make a vintage quilt using these blocks *adding more vintage feedsack fabric*. Life got in the way , and I never got around to it....So now it's time for someone who loves the old quilts and old feedsack fabrics to do it!These beautiful textiles are a relic from the past that are disappearing. The vintage quilts must be preserved.I've dated it "1940" by the newspaper obituaries on the back of one of the squares...see photo.Between 168-200 pieces of fabric in all were cut and stitched together to make these blocks.Condition: colors are bright, light storage stains consistent with age...82 years old!
