vintage parlor globe victorian style electric lamp with hand painted leaf pattern front and back, top and bottom i picked this beautiful lamp up at an estate sale at a beautiful intracoastal mansion here in Sewall's Point in Florida.and while I was able to get it to turn on it took some 3 tries before the lamp came on...i turned it on and off at least 5 times and each time I had to push in on the key-like switch and turn it 3 times before it came on...I'm certainly no expert when it comes to lamps or electrical issues,but it either requires a 3-way bulb(which I don't have available to try) OR it may need to be rewired?? anyway,i bought it because I thought it was beautiful,so I will describe it to the best o f my ability... please take as much as you can from the 12 photos I have supplied and ask any questions you may have. I'll give it my best shot to answer. it has a globe glass top with what appears to be hand painted leaves on it both front & back. the bottom part of the lamp is beautifully tapered and I don't think that it has the capacity to light up but it also has the leaves painted front & back. the metal (brass???) has a nice patina to it the base is marble and has a worn out label that i could read with a magnifying glass and says "marble made in italy" from top globe to marble base it measures 23" the diameter of the read more
