( Circa 1960-70 Era) It is a replica clock made in France in the style of French (16th Century) antique clocks which were originally designed with Romanesque or "Gothic" architecture and sometimes hand forged in precious metals. This mantle clock is ornate and very impressive in size and weight. It has the look and weight of brass and stands 18"H X 26"WX 3"D . This impressive mantle clock weighs twelve pounds and has a romantic strong european look. The outside casing of the clock is well made with individual sections bolted together. A magnet does not stick to the clock surface. The internal movement of the clock is battery operated with a plastic casing which is stamped "Made in France" and it has an on /off switch on the inside.( Please look at the photo to see other details of the movement casing.) It did not work for us when we put a battery in it with the switch in the on position but we found there were loose parts and the battery was loose in the casing. You will have to replace or repair this clock. I am listing this clock in the event someone will want to display the impressive "Gothic" outside casing and will want to restore or repair this vintage mantle clock because it is magnificent in style and stature. You will receive this clock "as found" in the original preowned and used condition with the loose parts. Please look over the photo's and please email your questions. This is a final sale.
