The baby in the picture is my grandaughter Lorain. We call her Rainy. She is over two now and with an enormous prayer effort and the wonderful staff at UAB Childrens Hospital she is still with us. Rainy was born without any bile ducts in her liver. She spent her first Christmas in UAB recovering from a liver transplant. She is a real trooper. Our most recent scare was a bacterial infection. The anti rejection drugs she takes for the transplant have shut down her imune system. Before the doctors found the infection her weight had dropped from the tiny 26 pounds she weighs down to 17 pounds. Her color changed from pink to pale white to almost gray in a few days. It was all she could do just to catch a breath of air. I am so very thankful and happy that she has fought her way back. I visited her at home the other day and after hugging me at the door. She reached up her tiny hand , grabbed my index finger, turned and said, come on Paw Paw you can color wiff me. I almost lost it. Anyway in order to help her with present and future needs I am selling off the vintage hawaiian shirts I have been collecting for my retirement. With all that goes on with Rainy I know I will be passing away one day in my work boots. Some of these shirts are very rare some are not. Most are from the 40's and 50's.
