There is rare and then there is really rare. This falls into the really rare category. Bill Graham Fillmore and Avalon Family Dog collectors take note. Heliotrope was a "free university" located at 2201 Filbert St. in San Francisco circa 1969 as the poster is titled "Summer 1969" and was used to advertise the summer catalog of classes. You can find the school listed in Yippie Abbie Hoffman's "Steal This Book" in chapter 6 under "Free Universities". This is the poster size 16 3/4 x 25 1/2" on heavy stock. Online notes from someone who claimed to have met Weir indicate:This exact image was also reproduced on the cover of Avant Garde Magazine, Volume 10, January, 1970.The cover image is by Tom Weir. It is one of a series of his wife Rene’e.
