Fall/Nature Christmas Glass Icicle Ornaments This set of six "all glass" handmade icicle ornaments includes a Chipmunk from the Merck Family's Old World Christmas collection. According to Native American folklore, the chipmunk got its stripes when escaping from a bear whose long sharp claws left long pale scars on the little chipmunk's back. This chipmunk has two white stripes on its back. The icicles were made using vintage mercury glass beads, which are sometimes prone to paint flaking and discoloration. The icicles are strung on new silver wire and measure from 6 to 7 inches long. Specialized beads I used include: double rectangle bumpy, gold round ribbed, large green ribbed barrel, triple and double rounds, and gold tubes. I also used a lamp work glass owl bead.
