Vtg NORMAN BRUMM ENAMEL on COPPER TRILLIUM SPRING WILD FLOWERS & WOOD SCULPTURE This superb enamel on copper and driftwood sculpture is by Norman Brumm of Charlevoix, Michigan. Brumm, 1938-2008, studied art and worked in oils and watercolors before opening his studio with his wife Judith in 1966. He translated his love of nature into his enamel on copper and driftwood sculptures. Brumm's figures of our native birds and woodland wildflowers are dear to all Midwestern nature lovers. This is an absolutely stunning sculpture of whiteTrilliums, a spring woodland wildflower. Measuring about 7-1/2" at the tallest point and 8" to 8-1/4" at the longest it's a good size display. The wood base is signed as shown and the original owner taped the old studio tag to the bottom which has now come off. The original price is penciled there, $145, which is fairly expensive when you consider this piece was probably purchased from the Brumm Studio in the 1970s or 80s. Tag is worn, torn and browned and has the old tape still attached. The drift wood is weighted with lead which is original. The only thing to note is two possible rough or chipped spots on the tips of the driftwood, please see the last 2 pics.
