•♦•SINGER FEATHERWEIGHT 221 SEWING MACHINE •♦• 1851-1951 CENTENNIAL BADGE Serial # AK745682 (from Feb. 20, 1952???)******* Vintage Singer Featherweight Sewing Machine with the A CENTURY OF SEWING SERVICE 1851-1951 Centennial Badge on the front. Comes with its Foot Control, assorted Accessories, and Carrying Case, as shown. Curiously, the serial number on the machine places the batch date in the beginning of 1952.Cosmetically, the machine is in very good condition- decals are bright and intact, some light wear, scratches to finish. A former owner broke the light bulb, and the end is still in the socket-- it will need to be removed and a bulb replaced. The foot control and motor seem to work fine, and the needle carriage moves up and down, however, a former owner has managed to put the Bobbin assembly together incorrectly, and the machine will currently only operate if the throat plate is Off. If it is on, nothing moves. In our opinion, the bobbin assembly will need to be replaced or repaired. We could not get a screwdriver to the little gig screw to disassemble it-- see detail photos. Accessories included are shown- they come in the green plastic and the green cardboard boxes. The carrying case is missing the button read more
