Up For Auction With No Reserve Rare Victorian, Habana, Cuba, Souvenir Advertising Hand Fan, Circa 1900 - "M. Caranza Fan Store and Curiosities" This rare advertising fan is in excellent condition for its age, with only one tiny tear in a fold less than a 1/4" long that does not effect this great fan in the least bit, I have attempted to show this in the included photos. This is a paper fan with 5" end sticks which are embossed and painted "Habana", the paint has some light wear however still shows well. On one side, the fan features a brightly colored lithograph bull fighting scene, with hand applied glitter highlighting the bullfighters clothing. The printed advertising side reads - "DO NOT FAIL TO VISIT M. Caranza, Fan Store and Curiosities, 119 Obispo St. Habana". None better than an advertising fan for a fan store! It is found that 20 years ago an identical fan was included in a June 1993 Christie's of London auction and realized a hammer price of $154.00, a bit low for the estimated $155.00-234.00 value, a value that would equate to $250-375.00 today. Simply a nice early advertising hand fan from Habana, this fan would make a nice addition to any collection and here's your chance to get it! The fan will be packed, boxed and shipped in a padded envelope to assure safe, secure delivery. As usual, the photos are the best description, read more
