I know little to nothing about vintage/ antique military uniforms but when this showed up at a local thrift store I frequent, my eyes popped. It appears to be a World War 1 military uniform coat worn by an infantry soldier and in Deadstock condition. Actually, to my eyes, it appears never worn. (but--at most-only a few times. Amazing condition. I'm guessing World War 1 because I just finished seeing a movie on TCM called " On Moonlight Bay" and it takes place during WW1 and the main actor was wearing the exact same style coat as mine. So please carefully review my 12 photos for more details because this is being sold " as is". But I'm sure there are military clothes collectors who will be able to indentify the period this was made and what military branch. If you have the info, please email me and I will add it to my description. Now for more details:It appears to be made out of wool , and has 4 front pockets with button closure. It has shoulder eoaulets with buttons and a tunic collar with hook closure and a " US" button on one side and what appears to be a button with " infantry" insignia/ logo on the other. Not positive. The buttons have provably lost a bit of their lustre but i'm certain with a little brass polish they will glow! The inside lining is prestine with no apparant wear.
