This incredible antique picture is by W.A.Carson. It is a mountain scene with a wagon train and cowboys traveling through cliffs and evergreens. I opened it once to see with my magnifier what it is and I saw that it is all chalk. Every tiny detail. I put it right back together ( didn't dare touch a thing) and hung it on the wall. It is beautiful. I bought it from a lovely woman's estate sale, who didn't know it's history, only that it was very old. This we can see. I can find only one flaw and that is a round tiny (sewing pin head size) rust colored spot, just above the tree line towards the right. The glass is convex and in excellent condition. The frame is all wood and is wonderful. Looks brand new. On the back are the stamps from Chicago Portrait Company priced at $6.90 originally! All original cardboard back and metal holders which simply 'pop up' to come off. Such an amazing piece! It is 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide. The frame is silver, all wood.
