The RARE 17 JEWEL VERSION. WAKMANN [Swiss] "Aviator Diver" watch (Breitling family heritage) This is the rarer 17 Jewel version. The rumor goes that as WAKMANN started to run out of money they decided to cut corners and as a consequence started to place 1 Jewel Ronda movements inside their watches instead of the 17 Jewel movement they were meant to contain. Hence the 1 Jewel WAKMANN variant is pretty easy to come-by and cheaper to obtain; the 17 Jewel version is a much more sought after piece, and as a result much harder to get hold of. Part of a huge WAKMANN collection I'm currently selling off . Still has original factory protection sticker on back I removed the protection sticker on the front for the benefit of the photographs. Still has 'red wax' seal on the inner rotating bezel crown Comes in a generic watch box Case Material: All Stainless steel Diameter: Approx 44 mm incl of crown Movement: Basic mechanical (17 Jewels stamped Swiss) Movement Type: Handwinding Case width: Approx 10 mm Strap / Size: Leather band , 22mm Watch has a nice weight to it. Aesthetically this is a great looking watch. Nice sought after name on the dial; albeit with somewhat of a potted history. It's a proper watch - 17 Jewels hand wound, no battery here. For the price it's a great everyday wearable watch, or one for the collection to cash in after a few years. This watch was manufactured a few years ago by the then owners of the WAKMANN brand. It uses a basic mechanical movement (17 Jewels which is stamped Swiss) it is hand winding, smooth and appears to function perfectly at this time. Face is signed 'WAKMANN', and has WAKMANN SWISS stamped below the nbr 6 marker. The watch has an inner rotating bezel which functions as it should. Watch is marked 5ATM but I would add caution whilst testing claim until it has been checked/serviced; this is NOS and as a consequence I have no idea how long it has been in storage for. So either take it off whilst washing up/having a shower or get it serviced. Same goes for any other watch I have personally purchased through eBay, I would never immerse it in water prior to having it checked over no matter what the listing stated. As a consequence rather than costly servicing I tend to just avoid water. I have posted 11 images, all from different angles, all fully zoom'able, and all of the actual watch you will receive.
