To my regular customers: I am back listing more tools, taking another break from a kitchen remodel. I have a LOT of great tools that I will be listing, plus my usual "one man's junk is another man's treasure" tools and parts. You are bidding on one Wallace double iron wood molding or moulding plane as pictured. It is marked "WALLACE" in tiny letters, "RB" twice in a bordered stamp, and owner JAs DUNBAR all on the front end, and DUNBAR again on the back end. Overall length is 9-9/16", and the body is 1-1/2" in width. The profile is a fenced ogee, with a small fillet at either end.The plane features some early characteristics, including the flat chamfers and the tiny lettering of the WALLACE name.Thomas Wallace and his sons have an interesting story in BPM3 (British Plane Makers 3rd Edition, THE book for collecting British wood planes) as they started out making planes in Dundee, and one son later emigrated to Montreal in Canada and made planes tCondition is mostly very good, but t is wear along the bottom surfaces especially at the sharp corners, and a chip missing out of the back end of the fence. The forward wedge has a crack that appears to have been neatly repaired.I have another Wallace plane, a double iron plane, listed right now on another auction. Please read my shipping terms below, as the US Post Office made some major changes read more
