GENE DOLL by Ashton Drake NRFB "WARMEST WISHES" #SO1394" Store Exclusive by GENE Designer Mel Odom Costume designed by Tim Kennedy. 15 1/2" of poseable collector quality vinyl with a finish that mimics fine porcelain. Hand-painted features, hand-applied lashes, period coiffures rooted and styled by hand. Impeccable tailoring details - hand sewn fastenings, fully lined dresses, seamed hose. Gene's hair is a richly lusterous reddish-umber curled into a classic 1940's style. The Story of Gene Marshall & w she wore this particular outfit is in the brochure included. Also Certificate of Authenticity. "Warmest Wishes is a rust-colored knit dress with a toasty warm winter coat. Circa 1948 The dress features a pocket cleverly tucked below the belt with a copper bead buttons. A teal chiffon cowl and hip sash accent the dress. The coat is lined in taffeta with a wide collar and poufed shoulders. It flares to below the knee. Packaged accessories, designed precisely to scale, include a twist hat, matching muff, a toy soldier in a gift box, golden scarf broach, closed-toe "suede" shoes, hose and aquamarine earrings. Doll and Box are in MINT condition - never opened until I opened it to take the picture. Original Ashton Drake Galleries shipping carton included.
