This unusual polished slab from a Washington conifer is full of toredo borings that have filled with crystals and contrasting minerals. The growth rings are very distinct and when the slab is angled, the light catches on the rings and borings and appears three dimensional. The back of slab is rough, showing the wood texture and some places w the clams bored into it. Nature has been captured in this 200 million year old specimen and immortalized so that you can own a piece of ancient history. Gymnospermae Eocene Epoch Puget Fm.
