DO YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL ITEMS OF GLASS THAT ARE MARRED BY UNSIGHTLY SCRATCHES AND STAINS. Well here is the answer. To see the process on YouTube just I have been using these products for over 20 years to remove scratches - stains - and even small chips from vases - drinking glasses - bowls - decanters - etc. All you need to add is water and patience. As you can see, the watch above was covered in quite deep scratches. I initialy reduced the scratches by hand using silicon carbide, supplied in the kit, this took the longest time (about 20 mins) I then polished the crystal using the powders in the kit in ascending order using the mops and my Dremel 300, this stage took about 15 mins. Obviously if polishing by hand, using the chamois supplied, this will take longer. To show the results better I have just polished the left side of the crystal and the results can be seen below. This process can take considerable time, but for vintage watches, where it can be impossible to find replacement crystals, it is well worth the effort. Other sellers will tell you that all you need is Cerium Oxide to polish away scratches in glass, this is true for very light scuffs and marks but, as those who have tried will know, it will have little effect on deeper scratches. Most sellers of glass polishing products do not restore glass themselves but are just retailers selling a product on, I use the powders in this kit on a daily basis so I know they work. The kit consists of 4 tubs containing different grades of polishing powders,4 pieces of chamois for hand polishing, a piece of 400grit silicon carbide cloth (for deeper scratches) and 4 chamois polishing mops plus instructions. As you will see from the examples below I can polish away scratches, limescale, staining and even small chips from all types of glassware using the powders in this kit and you can too . Some light scratches and stains can be removed in minutes some deeper scratches and stains can take considerably longer. This is something you can do in your relaxing time, with a tray on your lap you can rub those scratches and stains away whilst watching TV, listening to the radio, relaxing in the garden etc. There are four grades of polishing powder in this kit, course, medium & fine plus polishing. All just require a small amount of water and you are ready to rub away those scratches and stains.
