Many of the early factory clockmaking firms in New England produced wall regulators with solid oak cases that had door glasses imprinted with their product logo and name. Calumet Baking Powder; Orange Crush soft drink; Bull Durham tobacco; Coca Cola and other brand names were installed on these clocks which were in turn offered free of charge to various auto shops, grocery stores etc. where the owners would gladly accept a nice wall clock for their place of business. We've sold many of these over the years, but never in twenty years plus have we ever found one with the TWO STAR RADIATOR SOLDER ad like this one. The two star product was packaged in a round tube and when a car owner discovered a pin-hole leak in his radiator, he could pour the Two Star powder into the radiator coolent and (theoretically),when the paste emerged through the small leak the powder would solidify and seal the opening. Whether it worked isn't certain to us, but one thing IS for sure....the TWO STAR RADIATOR SOLDER ad on this clock is one of the rarest ads we've ever found. The clock runs well and keeps good time and the case is excellent...having been recently carefully restored. You car buffs and advertising collectors ought to acquire this great clock for your shop or den at home.
