This is a SUPERIOR example of a HIGH END Waterbury Porcelion Mantle Clock in wonderful looking and wonderful working condition. It is a very classy mantle clock in need of a warm loving home. It was made circa 1890. It has a signed "Waterbury Clock Co" 8-day time and strike movement which chimes the half-hour and counts the hours on the hour on a high end cathedral gong, with a distinctive beautiful sound. The case is also extremely beautiful! The case is made of porcelion with a beautiful RARE design in SUPERIOR condition with its ORIGINAL finish. THE CASE IS AS PERFECT AS THEY GET! The dial is BEAUTIFUL ALSO PERFECT and crisp, easy to read. I doubt if the clock has been worked on much as the screws and screw holes for the movement, dial, etc. are original and are tight. The signed movement runs very well and keeps good time. It has an adjustment for fast and slow on the dial, which can be turned by the small end of the new included double-ended key. This way you don't have to take the clock off its shelf to adjust it for fast and slow. The clock comes with the original pendulum and a new double-ended key - one end to adjust for slow and fast and the other to wind it with (see picture). The metal around the dial is original heavy solid brass (no extra screw holes). The original glass is heavy bevel glass. Has the original back door. read more
