This is a VERY BEAUTIFUL AND RARE example of a LARGE STORE Waterbury Regulator Wall Clock in BEAUTIFUL 100% ALL ORIGINAL condition. A REAL FIND FOR SURE AND A SUPER COLLECTOR'S ITEM! It is listed in the book Waterbury Clocks and Watches by Tran Duy Ly. This clock is all original and in GREAT condition. The top and bottom glass are original and very wavy with the ORIGINAL PAINTED DESIGN. It is a very classy Store Regulator clock in need of a warm loving home. It was made in 1890. It has a signed "Waterbury Clock Co" 8 day time only movement. The movement runs very well and keeps good time. The movement was just cleaned, oiled, pivots polished and bushings added w needed. This clock will not need servicing for many years to come, and is ready for the next 100 years! This is a labor intensive service, with many clockmakers charging 250.00 and up. We recommend having it oiled every 2 to 3 years to keep it in tip-top shape! With the purchase of this clock for an additional $ 2.25 we will include an oiler kit with a professional oiler loaded with enough oil to oil approximately 50 clocks with easy instructions so you could even do it yourself! This clock has the original large and heavy highly desirable pendulum. The case is also extremely beautiful! The case is SOLID WALNUT made with a beautiful authentic design in great condition. The original door still has its original glass with the original painting! The signed dial is ORIGINAL, not been touched up or messed with at all, also very easy to read. I doubt if the clock has been worked on much as the screws and screw holes for the movement, dial, etc. are original and are tight. The clock comes with THE ORIGINAL key to wind it. The metal around the dial (bezel) is original, great condition (no extra screw holes) with a great patina. The hands are original are in great condition. Has the original back. Looks like it was white washed at one time! The movement is a very strong runner. Runs great with a really wide pendulum swing and a happy ticking sound. This is truly a wonderful and original clock! The clock is quite large and measures 39 inches high, 5 inches deep, and 16 inches wide. Again the top and bottom glass is original – quite rare indeed. These large regulators were usually wound by store help and many times the glass would be broken after all these years! These antique clocks amaze me - could you imagine any other consumer product still working after 100 years! And the truly amazing thing with proper care they will work easily past the next 200 years, and much more! If you are looking for an antique clock that looks like it was cherished its whole life, and looks just about like it did the day it was bought, very high quality, and aged to a perfect patina – this is it! Antique Clocks are a Fine Investment. Each one has a unique quality, as well as appreciating in value and beauty with age.
