This painting was done by Gregory Sobran during his watercolor period lasting from the early 1970s until about 2000 when he returned to oils. Sobran painted briefly with oils during his student years.This picture was purchased during an art show at Sobran's Ann Arbor studio in the early 1990s.According to his web site: "Greg Sobran was born in Marblehead, Massachusetts in 1947. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree." He travels two months a year painting in Europe and spends extensive periods in South Florida and in the Rocky Mountains.
