NORAH SHARPLEY 1913 - 2011 Waterfall Etching 12x4 inches image and comes unframed Signed and dated 1964 2/4 Very good condition Orchardart are pleased to be able to offer another fine collection of important paintings, drawings and prints by the listed artist Norah Sharpley. Like many talented artists they often dont get the recognition they deserve and this artist is no exception. As you can see from her dates she lived a long and notorious life. In the 1930s she trained as an illustrator / printmaker at the Royal College of art where she met many influential artists . She made friends with a fellow pupil Jane Cummings and the pair of them associated themselves with Graham Sutherland and John Minton. After completing her art studies she got a job as an illustrator for many publishing houses designed mainly front covers for books. Her work as an artist developed over the years and this collection will show the complete talent of an artist that deserves an higher profile in the art world.
