From 1945-1953 Waterman made the Stateleigh Taperite model fountain pen to compete with the Parker 51. These pens had a 14k small nib and an overall sleek design. They are known to be excellent writing pens. What is rare about this pen is that the cap is 14k solid gold! The clip is marked "Watermans" and the barrel "Waterman's Made in USA". The cap is marked 14k. In addition to being rare as a 14k model, the cap also has a deep "icicle" lined pattern similar to the Parker 51 "Empire" model made at that time. The pen is 5 1/2 inches capped. The lined pattern in the cap is very deep. The cap has no dents or scratches. The barrel is equally fault-free. This is an uncommon 14k capped pen!Posted with eBay Mobile
