Antique Watson & Son, London, student brass microscope in very good condition, from the 1890s' era. Complete with the original mahogany case, and original key, although the case does have two horizontal cracks running across the back. The engraved marking on the horizontal part of the stand shows "Watson & Son, 313 High Holborn, London". There is no serial number that I could find. The stand is of the Continental horse-shoe design, and there is a lump of balsam(?) on the base of one of the feet. There is an extra lens element included for larger magnification. The lacquer coating over the brass body is essentially in good condition. The reflective mirror still retains its original coating. Also included are two glass slides from the 1890s', one of which shows a fly's wing, and the other "nits". A well-made student microscope from a past era, and is in overall very fine condition.
