WDW - 35 Magical Milestones - 1971 - Walt Disney World® Resort Opens, This Florida destination opened on October 1, 1971 with the Magic Kingdom® Park, two resort hotels, golf courses and fun-in-the-sun recreation. This Limited Edition pean features Mickey Mouse in front of Cinderella Castle. Mickey Mouse and the drum are pins-on-pin. Backstamp:"2006 Pin trading logo, Limited Edition of 2500, c Disney Made in China, 35 in Mouse Ears Logo Magical Milestones 1971". 1972 - If You Had Wings Opens, Guests could "widen their world" aboard this Tomorrowland® Attraction, which operated at the Magic Kingdom® Park from June 5, 1972 to June 1, 1987. This Limited Edition pin features Stitch climbing a waterfall in a scene reminiscent of this classic attraction. Stitch and the airplane, are pin-on-pin and Stitch has movement. 1973 - The Walt Disney Story Opens, From April 15, 1973 to October 5, 1992, this Main Street, U.S.A.® Attraction featured a movie, narrated by Walt Disney, telling the story of his life. This Limited Edition pin features various photos of Walt Disney that dangle from The Walt Disney Story building front. This pin includes a dangle and a pin-on-pin. 1974 - Star Jets Opens, Guests could soar to the stars aboard this Tomorrowland® Attraction, which opened at the Magic Kingdom® Park on November 28, 1974. Goofy is featured in this Limited Edition pin taking a ride on the Star Jets. Goofy is featured as a dangle and the Star Jets Attraction is a pin-on-pin with a spinner. 1975 - Space Mountain Opens, Rockets first launched in this out-of-this-world Tomorrowland® Attraction on January 15, 1975. Donald Duck is holding onto his hat on the Space Mountain® Attraction in the Limited Edition pin. Donald and his rocket are a slider; this pin also features a dangle. 1976 - American Bicentennial Celebration, America on Parade, a special American Bicentennial Parade to commemorate the Bicentennial, debuted at the Magic Kingdom® Park on June 6, 1975. The last performance took place on September 6, 1976. Chip and Dale are celebrating the Bicentennial for the United States in the Limited Edition pin. This pin features a dangle. 1977 - Main Street Electrical Parade, Featuring a synthesized musical score and a half a million tiny lights, this beloved Magic Kingdom® Parade debuted on June 11, 1977. Goofy is driving the train in the Main Street Electrical Parade in this Limited Edition pin. Goofy and the train are featured as a pin-on-pin. The pin also features a dangle. 1978 - Mickey Mouse's 50th Celebration, The Walt Disney World® Resort celebrated the 50th anniversary of Mickey Mouse with a special parade at Magic Kingdom® Park in 1978. Mickey Mouse is featured in this Limited Edition pin blowing out the candles on his birthday cake. The cake is a pin-on-pin constructed from PVC.
