This auction for a brand new, unissued US Military Specification, cotton web sling for the US Rifle Caliber .30 M1 "Garand",and will fit many other rifles with 1 1/4 inch loops. This sling was made during the war in Vietnam and placed on all of the US Rifles in service including the M-1 "Garand" , Browning (BAR) and the M-14. It was discovered the cotton slings in Country would rot away in a short time so a process called Mildew Resistant Treatment (MRT) was applied at the time of manufacture. These slings were made by a US Department of Defense Contractor and sealed in a plastic bag after the sling and a label was placed in the bag. The paper tag reads FSN: SLING SMALL ARMS ONE EACH DAAR09-2385 NORESTO BROS.MFG.CO. LEVEL A Buy now, before they are gone.Limited stock in again. Very limited supply, might be the last of these. This it the genuine 100% real article. There is no date stamped in these slings however I believe the 70 is the year of manufacture of this brand new OLD Stock item. It is made in America by a US Government contractor to the original WWII/Korean War MILSPEC (Military Specifications) It is not a "lookalike-"type" this is the real McCoy.I would like to point out these slings are constructed from a piece of heavy web strap, not the thin look-alike ones being sold at half what these cost me by other sellers. read more
